Airtight roofing solution for the renovation of 96 homes in Vejen

Written by BetaPack A/S | 19.01.26

At Bakkegårdsvej 101 in Vejen, the carpentry company Tømrerfirmaet Egil Rasmussen is carrying out an extensive renovation project for a local housing association. The project includes a complete renovation of 96 homes and spans a period of 1.5 years. A key part of the project is the replacement of the roof structures – and here, an alternative vapour barrier solution has been chosen that both streamlines the process and improves airtightness.

A tray solution focused on airtightness and time savings
Instead of installing the vapour barrier from the inside beneath the ceiling, a so-called tray solution has been selected, where the vapour barrier is installed from the outside in connection with the roofing work. This approach offers several practical advantages in the renovation process – not least in terms of efficiency and the working environment for the craftsmen.

The solution consists of a combination of:

  • AEROSANA VISCONN FIBRE – a spray-applied vapour barrier that can be applied directly to the substrate and seals even complex details and transitions
  • alpha Neti – a reinforced vapour barrier that adds strength, durability, and robustness to the overall construction

Together, this combination creates a reliable and flexible airtight solution, while also reducing the need for manual joints and cutting in complicated areas.

Approved solution and an easier working day for the craftsmen
The solution is approved by the Danish Building Damage Fund (Byggeskadefonden), which is a key requirement in large-scale housing renovations. At the same time, it has received positive feedback from the craftsmen on site, who highlight that the combination of a spray-applied and reinforced vapour barrier:

  • is easy to work with
  • saves working time
  • ensures a high level of airtightness in the construction

By installing the vapour barrier from the outside, several work processes inside the finished homes are avoided, and the risk of errors or leaks in detailed connections is minimised.

BetaPack provides on-site support
BetaPack has been involved from the very beginning of the project and has, among other things, inspected the site at project start-up and helped the carpenters get off to a good start. This ensures correct installation from the outset and high quality in the overall solution.

We are always ready to provide installation guidelines, technical support, and documentation – both during the planning phase and on the construction site – ensuring that the solutions work in practice and meet the requirements of modern construction.
