In the spring of 2024, The Organic Crave suddenly faced an unexpected challenge: changes in production meant that a large amount of their film packaging could no longer be used. With a very short deadline, new packaging had to be produced quickly to ensure their products could be delivered to customers on time.
The Organic Crave therefore reached out to BetaPack, who quickly identified a suitable solution to get them back on track.
The solution was to switch from one printing method to another – from flexographic printing to digital printing. This method offered the speed and flexibility needed to meet the very short deadline that The Organic Crave was facing.
There are pros and cons to both flexographic and digital printing, and it’s always about finding the method that best suits the company and its products. Digital printing has lower setup costs and offers more flexibility compared to flexo. It is also ideal for campaigns, small runs, or when 6–8 designs need to be grouped together. On the other hand, flexo is more cost-effective for larger volumes, making it the cheaper option in the long run.
It’s no coincidence that many smaller food companies use digital printing. This printing method holds many possibilities – especially when it comes to experimenting with designs and running campaigns with smaller quantities.
“We’ve really opened our eyes to the many opportunities with digital printing. With the right customers, we can, for example, create custom-made solutions – like a collaboration between two different brands. And we can use digital printing to launch new, exciting partnerships that would normally be too costly when it comes to film packaging, where customers would otherwise need to tie up a lot of capital. Digital printing makes these collaborations possible at a much lower cost” continues Jeppe Vadgaard.
Samarbejdet mellem BetaPack og The Organic Crave stopper ikke her, og allerede nu er der flere projekter på bedding.
The collaboration between BetaPack and The Organic Crave doesn’t stop here – several projects are already in the works.
“We are currently working on a project involving a protein bar, where we need to create customized packaging in film, cardboard, and corrugated board. At BetaPack, we focus strongly on gathering all of a customer’s packaging needs under one roof. This way, the customer doesn’t need to rely on multiple suppliers” says Peter Mols Hermansen, Key Account Manager at BetaPack and responsible for The Organic Crave.
The Organic Crave is also highly positive about the collaboration with BetaPack:
