Full salary during parental leave — for both mothers and fathers

Earlier this year, new parental leave rules came into effect in Denmark. The updated legislation gives both parents — regardless of gender — the right to 24 weeks of leave with parental benefits after the birth of a child. One of the most significant changes is that a portion of the leave is now earmarked for each parent, meaning it cannot be transferred but must be used individually. The aim is to strengthen fathers’ ability — and motivation — to take an active role during the early stages of parenthood.
