Aabybro Mejeri and BetaPack reduce plastic consumption with new packaging solution

“We wanted a simple solution with as little packaging as possible – it had to be low-cost, easy to pack, user-friendly, and require less plastic and time” says N.H. Lindhardt, owner of Aabybro Mejeri.

Aabybro Mejeri wanted a simpler packaging solution with fewer materials and easier day-to-day handling. In collaboration with BetaPack, the dairy developed a new paper-based packaging solution in which plastic is no longer part of the specific packaging type. The solution is based on a tray made from a thin corrugated structure with a corrugated cardboard lid and is tailored to production, handling, and use at Aabybro Mejeri.

With the new solution, Aabybro Mejeri has reduced the use of plastic in its packaging and simplified internal work processes. The packaging is constructed from a single, uniform material, making handling straightforward and easy to manage for both employees and consumers.
