BetaPack & La Lorraine: Fast track from idea to action

When it comes to bread and pastries, La Lorraine knows their craft – offering a wide assortment ranging from bread and croissants to sweet pastries and savory baked goods. Their products can be found frozen in supermarkets across Denmark.

Since the end of 2022, BetaPack has been supplying La Lorraine with packaging in paper and cardboard – both for transport and distribution as well as for direct product packaging.

Always a guarantee of a tailored solution

Although the collaboration between BetaPack and La Lorraine is relatively new, several innovative and effective packaging solutions have already been created. These solutions not only support La Lorraine’s opportunities but also address their challenges.

“Whether it’s transport packaging or consumer packaging for the product itself, at BetaPack we always focus on creating a customized solution that addresses the exact challenge the customer is facing. This has also been the case with La Lorraine, where we have worked closely together to develop the packaging for their donut products” says Allan Myrup, Key Account Manager at BetaPack and responsible for La Lorraine.

When developing new packaging for a product, the process often involves several rounds of adjustments and fine-tuning to identify the construction and design that best fit.

An efficient construction process – from start to finish

As mentioned above, the packaging for the donut products – the donut box – went through a long development process, with significant design changes along the way. For example, we moved from a two-piece box to a one-piece box with a larger “window” that showcases the product. At the same time, the internal dividers initially had a straight design but were later adjusted to a slanted form for better functionality.

“BetaPack was involved right from the beginning of the donut box development – both in terms of design and in adapting the packaging to our machines to ensure optimal performance. From the moment we bring them an idea, a change, or anything else, it only takes a few days before BetaPack comes back with a plan of action. The same goes for packaging prototypes, which we can then test. BetaPack generally makes it easy for us to keep developing our products” continues Anders Stilou Qvortrup.

At La Lorraine, the donut box has been well received by both internal sales teams and supermarkets, where the colorful packaging brightens up the frozen display shelves.
